A female drink driver can walk into a Police Station, obtain a Domestic Abuse Prevention Order the day before (without any proof of abuse, possibly), go on to drink and drive and – if caught – get only a driving ban for 12 months (the judge admitted it would normally be around 30 months) and a community order for being three times over the limit. She had to endanger the public by driving when drunk?
